The Medicaid
managed care tracking project, begun in 1995, involves analyses
of Medicaid managed care contracts and telephone interviews with
state Medicaid managed care program directors. The project examines
trends in state policies pertaining to managed care enrollment,
plan arrangements, service requirements, capitation rates, medical
necessity and EPSDT provisions, and specific safeguards for children
with special health care needs. Reports are produced on an on-going
basis.
