The MCH
Policy Research Center is examining the types of cost containment
strategies that state Medicaid agencies are pursuing that affect
children. This study examines reductions or cuts that states may
adopts in areas such as eligibility, outreach, prescription drug
benefits, capitation rates, managed care plan requirements, and
home and community based waivers. Previous studies in this series
examined cuts to children’s mental health services, Title
V benefits, and the SCHIP program.
