Pediatric Subspecialty Innovation Exchange

We are seeking real-world examples for improving access to pediatric subspecialty care and for strengthening effective relationships between primary and specialty pediatric care providers and families.  Examples of innovations include:

  • Interactive educational programs between pediatric subspecialists and primary care physicians
  • Financial incentives or special payment arrangements for communication, consultation, and shared management
  • System-level changes that accommodate pediatric subspecialty referral, triage, and care management within and across states
  • Clinical practice improvements that facilitate shared decisionmaking with families in primary and specialty pediatric practices

To submit your innovation to the Federal Expert Work Group on Pediatric Subspecialty Capacity and others, please complete the information below and submit to slimb@mchpolicy.org.  You will receive a confirmation after your submission has been received and we will automatically add you to our mailing list.  All submissions will be reviewed by the Expert Work Group prior to posting the innovation on our website.

The Innovation Exchange is pleased to announce several promising practices in 2 areas: 1) referral, consultation, and shared management and 2) state and regional approaches to extend pediatric subspecialty capacity. We continue to seek additional innovative strategies for improving the interface between primary and specialty pediatric care and for extending pediatric subspecialty capacity through state and regional delivery networks.  Please submit your entry using the information below.
